Halifax credit score

Hi there
Just wondered if anyone could shed any light for me...
On various forums on here I have seen people mention they have been scored as say A4 or C1 or A something with Halifax when applying for mortgage/credit etc. Just wondered how you find this out and what it means!?
Thanks in advance

It's number first, then letter, from memory. I believe 1A is the best.
One of them denotes rate (ie A customers get the best rate, ie representative rate on credit cards). I can't remember what the other denotes.
As for how you find out, well I've never been refused a cheeky request for a sneaky peek at the CSA's screen in branch.

That's useful to know, I'm interested as I'm trying to figure out whether I stand a fighting chance of passing the credit scoring to get a mortgage with them, as I'm figuring out that a DIP is not really a good indication! (I have one already but have had that for years and have since got a default in 2011, not due to drop off until October this year).
