Opening savings accounts from abroad

Hi there. I need a little help or advice please....
My partner and I moved to Japan in August 2014 and are still living there now. We pay tax in Japan. Whilst living there, we have been opening regular savings accounts in the U.K. to get a little interest on our savings whilst away. I know this strictly isn't allowed but we still have a U.K. address.
So I'm just wondering what the implications would be if the taxman was to find out? Could a fine be imposed? Would interest on the savings received have to be repaid?
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks
