Skipton

As Skipton are closed today so can't ring them, can anyone tell me if their Faster Payments (in and out) are same day? For example West Brom's are next working day (they say because they're not a clearing bank).

Skipton's t&c's state if transaction instructions are received by 3pm on a working day they'll be processed that day, but I'm not clear if that means funds would be received into the linked account same day.

    From:- http://www.skipton.co.uk/savings/savings-hub/paying-in-and-withdrawing

    OUT
Any online requests that are received before the payment cut-off time of 8pm will arrive in your nominated account no later than midnight of the next working day. Any requests received after 8pm will be processed the next working day.

    IN
Faster Payments sent by other providers will be processed within 2 hours of receipt, regardless of the day or time they arrived

Yes, I did read that, but that only states that it'd be processed, I wasn't sure whether that also meant funds would be received into the receiving bank the same day it's processed (dependant upon the receiving ends t&cs of course).

Seems pretty clear to me: Any online requests that are received before the payment cut-off time of 8pm will arrive in your nominated account no later than midnight of the next working day.

If its any help....my transfers to my nominated account, from my Skipton account, all arrived same day. They were mostly initiated at around 9am, but I did find one that I initiated at 1413 and arrived same day. All were regular banking days, never tried weekends.

Thank you interest Ted, personal experience is what I wanted to know, as in your case the no later than deadlines don't necessarily mean funds don't turn up earlier (unlike West Brom where funds are always the next day).

    .............
  • I use Skipton as my account for excess money which I feed into my regular savings accounts so over the past year or so I've done about 100 transfers out of Skipton and never have they not arrived (on a weekday) on the same day, even when I've done them at 7pm.

The one thing to be aware of is that they don't seem to process transfers until 9am so they miss direct debit deductions in other accounts so I just transfer them the day before.
