Repaying balance transfer

I've a credit card with balance transfer & purchases 0% interest free.
I'd like to pay off the balance transfer portion as the 0% rate runs out, do I need to do anything specific to allocate the payment against the balance transfer portion? I don't want the bank to say for example, only half of it got allocated agains the balance transfer, half against the 0% purchase activity and then I've been charged interest.
It was the first transaction on the credit card if that helps at all?

Depends on the card and how they treat simultaneous promo balances at the same rate.0

Might be worth phoning them and saying that you would like it paid against the balance transfer amount as normally it would be against the inetrest bearing amount.0

They'll allocate it according to the t&cs, no matter what the OP requests.0

Thanks will give them a ring / read the t&c's, failing that I'll just pay the lot and re-use the card perhaps.0

Who issued your card out of interest OP?
Some credit card providers allocate any repayments to the promotional rate ending first. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
I have a rule that I learnt early on from these forums - never mix a balance transfer card with any kind of other spending.0

Usually I'd agree with you-in the past I've done that and attracted interest on my outstanding balance.
However my BarclayCard has a Balance Transfer/Purchases promo on it and it's currently interest free on both until October 2018.
Anyway seeing as you're a fellow Red Devil I'm not going to fall out with you :rotfl:It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0
