Civil Parking Charge Notice- Lidl

Visited a Lidl store some 85 miles from where I live. Was unaware that I had to enter my car reg no into the terminal if I was staying longer than the allowed 10 mins free period. I did my shopping and left the car park after 21.43 mins. I have just received a PCN from Athena ANPR Ltd demanding £90 for exceeding the free parking duration. Seems to be excessive and disproportionate for overstaying 12 mins. There were plenty of empty spaces in the car park
Any advice on how to appeal would be very much appreciated.
Or shall I send this a payment of £12 ie rate of £1/ min for not knowing their rules. Have to say that I did not see any signs or warnings- probably because I was not expecting them.

Use either of these two email addresses:

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I thought this issue was already fully covered in the NEWBIES FAQS thread, with the first link to 'SUCCESSFUL COMPLAINTS ABOUT PPCs' where the email address is already given for complaining to Lidl, in a recent post in 2017 there.

Not sure why people don't just follow what's already in the sticky thread, in capitals at the top of the forum.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
