Does my bad credit affect my partner ?

Hi
I'm looking into moving in with my boyfriend but I am worried my debt will affect him ? I have bad credit but I am currently working on repaying my debts, what I want to know is does my bad credit affect him in any way ? He owns his own home and I'm not going on the mortage and we won't be sharing any bank accounts etc
Thanks

As long as you have nothing joint, you'll be ok. It's when you are financially linked that you screw his score up :)

It depends if you are financially linked although if you are you can apply to become disassociated. I don't know a lot about it but keeping everything separate should help.

I was with my ex for 8 years and the only link on my credit record to him is because of our joint mortgage. We kept seperate bank accounts etc. and had nothing else joint except our mortgage.

As long as you don't apply for a joint mortgage or joint account then your credit records should be kept separate. If you check your records and find you are linked despite not having either of these then, as above, you can apply to disassociate yourselves. Many married couples manage to keep their credit records unlinked.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
