    So he had some credit card problems 8 years ago, and has rebuilt his credit history.

    Why would he need a rethink about financing a car?

    Yes, i'm curious too. It seems some people are passing judgement on you without knowing any detail of your more recent circumstances.

    That number is meaningless, only you see it.
    Really? I recently applied for car finance, I had never looked at my credit score before and the salesperson informed me they use Experian and you need a score of 850 or more. I registered for Experian and found that my score was 880, and I got approved for the finance for the car.
