Hi,
My vet advised me that the vaccine that the breeder has arranged for my pup may not be compatible with the one he uses. This would mean starting the vaccines again with him. After contacting the breeder and getting the info my vet required he advised me that the vaccines aren't compatible.
I advised the breeder not to have my pup vaccined and I would have her done.
Has anyone heard of this???

If you cant return the puppy to the same Vet for the second jab, then it's pointless having the first - as you'd need to have the first all over again.
This would be the same if more than 3 weeks or so elapsed between first and second jab at the same vet - you'd need to start a new course.
How old is the pup? As some vets prefer not to administer the first jab earlier than 10 week's old, then the second at 12 weeks.0 -
Compatibility of Puppy Vaccines
Q: Our puppy, a Basset Fauve de Bretagne, has had his first inoculation - Nobivac PPil - with his breeder's vet. He had this at 8 weeks old. Our own vet is proposing to use Vanguard (7) 1xCPV-L, 1xOA2Pi when the puppy is 12 weeks old. (We are not absolutely certain that he intends to use both of these vaccines at 12 weeks). Could you please let us know whether these two different vaccines are compatible. Thank you.
A: Dear Mr Mellor The vaccines from different manufacturers are compatible, though most vets will only be using one manufacturers products for economic reasons. It is normal practise to use a vaccine with multiple components for convenience.
