Returning faulty/dangerous goods

Options
Hi,

Who covers the cost of returning faulty goods?
I've recently bought an e-cig mod from an online seller, it's been proved to be faulty, unsafe even, however, they're returns policy states that I should pay the cost to return the device.
As far as I'm aware, the cost of returning faulty goods must be covered by the seller, as it's not my fault they have supplied faulty equipment.

Can I legally be expected to cover the cost of postage for returning faulty equipment?

TIA

In that case they pay under consumer law .
But sometimes its not worth the bother if postage is not to much .

Section 23 of The Consumer Rights Act tells us:
    (2) If the consumer requires the trader to repair or replace the goods, the trader must—

    (a) do so within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to the consumer, and

    (b) bear any necessary costs incurred in doing so (including in particular the cost of any labour, materials or postage).

In what way has it been proved to be faulty? By you or the seller.

First things first they have the right to inspect it to see it's faulty, until then they owe you nothing.
