Living on Secondment, do i need Business Car Insurance?

This is one of those small print nightmares.
I am about to head off on a 6 month+ secondment with my employer, I will be making my work provided accommodation my new home address, and will then commute to a single office.
Work will pay my fuel bill so i can travel "home" at weekends (back to the area my contracted office is). Also a possibility they might pay for the "commute" to work.
From a work perspective, i will be on a secondment for the business, living away from my home (so from this sense is a clear business insurance case)
However, from a personal perspective, i will have fully moved bank accounts and all to the new location, and will be driving as any of us normally would commuting to a single office, with the only benefit being my company will pay some of my fuel.
Another spanner, is the office is in Manchester, and thus at least an extra £1500 on my insurance. The cheaper option would be to insure at my family home, then simply get the business insurance, which happens to take me to Manchester for 6 months
I am guessing this is a no goer as well
Any pointers most welcome :money:.

As you'll be staying at this new location for the majority of the week then you'd need to inform your insurer that this is where the car will be kept.0

Speak to your insurer. Then you can be sure there will be no dispute if you need to claim.0

Why? What is the point in that?0 -
Cheers for the advice guys, just wanted to go into that call with a bit more information
As i rent, i can get rid of my current place and move permanently into the work provided accommodation and effectively be rent free.0 -
I think that answers your question as to what to do with your insurance.WhatTheFunk wrote: »Cheers for the advice guys, just wanted to go into that call with a bit more information

As far as business use is concerned it generally doesn't add that much to your premium.0
