Opening Santander regular saver

Hello
As i've got a santander 123 account decided to open regular saver as paying 5% interest
can fund £200 a month
Have transferred first payment by transferring from 123 account and set up SO for remaining 11 payments
Not sure if I should have manually transferred 1st payment
Any one know if this is ok or should all payments be by standing order ?
Cheers

Not sure but I've done the same. Don't see why it would be a problem.0

Done exactly the same tonight so hope it's okay?0

Did it that way last year and it was ok. This year set up SO starting 'tomorrow' for 12 payments, first payment was taken on time, don't think it matters either way.0

I did same (1st transfer, then SO) on isss5 & before that on issue 2, which wasn't a problem.
Ts&Cs do not say you must use standing order.0 -
Many thanks for your replies looks like all should be good

I was able to open one and the guy was able to try to sell me a credit card - but I wasn't able to set up a standing order into it without additional ID (required to access my Santander current account). The transfers need to be set up separately - ideally you'd set up a standing order when the first payment leaves as soon as possible - but a manual transfer should be ok too.0

The lady on the phone did it for me last year, so it isn't a problem.
I even recently paid £400 into the same month accidentally and removed it right away. I sent a secure message enquiring whether this will be fine. They logged it as a complaint and gave me £50 for my 'troubles'. :rotfl:0
