Hi, I have just bought my new PS3 and I cant get it to connect to my router i keep getting error code 8013013E which apparently is to do with WEP keys I have changed my security to WEP as it was WPA but it has made no difference.
Any help appreciated.

Have you copied the WEP from your router to your PS3?

Well it needs to be the WEP code that is in use on your router.

Stick with WPA then as it's more secure but you could try just using a HEX key of the maximum allowable length.

    e.g. CA211D0EAA4606DEC79427D1392677E881B456E23C439B2BBF

  • Hi folks.

I have been having similar problems with WIFI connectivity as well.

At first, I tried WPA2 (usual router setup) on my new PS3. No joy. Then I tried WPA, still no joy. It only seems to connect when I either use WEP or no encryption at all, and of course I'm not happy about using WEP.

Espresso & superscraper, do you know if there is a minimum length to the key if using WPA in order for the PS3 to connect? Mine is currently 8 HEX chars (which is fine for the wifi PC and laptop at home), yet the WEP worked fine when using 26.

    Thanks and Happy New Year!

Normally the router will require 8 - 63 characters and I would simply get a HEX key from here and save it to a notepad file, so that it can easily be copied and pasted in when required. The maximum allowable length key is obviously more secure, so this is more important than the minimum length.
