Get Chip - Savings Account - Up to 5% AER

I've just come across the mobile savings banking app calls Getchip.

It is saved in a Barclays 'e-wallet'

You can save a maximum of £100 per day into the account and earn up to 5% AER interest.

I believe this is currently unbeatable.

To achieve the 5% AER interest you have to refer four friends (and be referred by one).

Referrals are not allowed to be requested on this forum, but I just wanted to bring this deal to the attention of others.

I've just signed up myself and the app looks great.

Does anyone know of any draw backs in using such an app ?

It's not unbeatable. I get 5% with Nationwide with far less hoops to jump through

I do too, but thought it sounded great at 5% with no maximum balance

They say they are working on getting FSCS accredited.

It would depend on what type of FSCS protection you would get - deposits or investments.

They would also need to be accredited by the banks as safe to share your login details with.
