Expedia - Cancelled Purchase/Contract - Looking for info

Hi all,
Just fishing for info on this one, as its no biggy if nothing comes of it.....
Expedia.co.uk
Advertised a deal which is a package (sold by other vendors too), which gets you a limited menu meal, wax museum entry and a ride on the eye (location don't matter, just more a case of expedia sold that package).
Sooooooooooooo, I paid for 3 vouchers, and selected my future date for this (May), monies taken from Bank, and many hours later, I get 3 vouchers to print off along with the "itinerary" item added to my inventory, happy days......
2 weeks later, I get an email from Expedia saying we cancelled your voucher because wax museum peeps messed up and did wrong price, so your order is cancelled and we will refund you when we can be bothered.... (ok, slight laymens terms there!
)
My question is:
If a merchant/seller/broker, whatever, etc enters into a contract with a consumer, that contract is formed when dispatch of goods is done (and monies taken), so in my case, an email with the vouchers....
If that's the case, can I make Expedia honour the contract we formed, or is it just a case of sellers/retailers can do what they like with no recourse, that said, the recourse is you don't use that seller/retailer again ??

Well the CCRs say cancellation rights are waived if the purchase is for an event to be taken on a specific date and that date is defined at the time of purchase. Therefore if YOU can't cancel then THEY can't cancel either.
However there may also be contract T&Cs saying something like E&OE ... Errors and Omissions Excluded.0 -
you knew it was a pricing error when you booked it.
my guess is that if it is an obvious error (which it was) then that is their get out.0 -

CorrectMadamme Tusards anyone ??
Read it on another site, that Expedia are doing a 'Romance package' which gets u access to the museum, the linq eye and lunch/dinner inside the Linq....
I set my date for May (non-refundable, book the date u want to go)...
Paid £11.51 each for 3 tickets!
Even if missing the food option, I think £12 for a ticket to the wax museum ain't a bad deal....
http://www.justvegasdeals.com/madame-tussauds-high-roller-package-price-error/
but go via expedia.co.uk as normal if u want to book....
Defo a pricing error, but as stated on the above site, expedia honour there mess ups, and I know first hand, they honour there deals from stuff in the past I have had with them....
worth a shot maybe ?
Obvious error means the contract is voidable for mistake.0 -
i knew it was an error, as my own sense of mind would say that the ticket i was looking at should cost say £50 as a package, but it was advertised at £12.80, etc....
But i was thinking more along the lines of:
Average joe is browsing Expedia, see's a package price for something, thinks "great" and books it...
he dont know if its a pricing error or not, he just see's a deal..
For my Honeymoon, i looked at hotels on Expedia, Ebookers, etc etc...
Found the Sheraton four points in Orlando which suited what we wanted. Cost was between £500 to £540 on those bigboy broker sites....
i booked the same hotel for same week via TravelRepublic for £253..
Was it a pricing error ?
As said, fishing for info...
As i booked a "non-fundable" deal with Expedia, and everything on read on these forums about contracts once an order is dispatched, etc is what made me post the above.... Curious!0 -

Where one party is mistaken as to the nature of the contract and the other party is aware of the mistake, or the circumstances are such that he may be taken to be aware of it, the contract is void.
