G24 Parking Fine

I parked in a Wickes car park last weekend. Entered at 9.30am, exited at 11.10am. G24 apparently manage this car park and have a limit of 90 minutes. I wasn't aware of this. However, Wickes itself doesn't open until 10am, so technically I was not more than 90 minutes from when the shop opened. I have received a fine, but have not done anything about it, as thought it was unenforceable. However, it appears that now the laws have changed it may be enforceable?

Can anyone please advise what I should do.

Thank you very much for all your help/guidance.

    It's not a fine it's an invoice.

I don't see you logic about the time Wikes opens it's got nothing what so ever to do with the time your car was on site, and in fact it can make your argument worse!

But your appeal points will have nothing to do with what the driver did on the day, and you should edit your post accordingly so as to not identify the driver.

First you should get up to speed with what you are dealing with as you are not clued up at the moment.

But help is at hand if you read the Newbies start here thread on page one of this forum. ;)
  • I'm in the same predicament and really not sure what to do. I tried the ignoring response but am now being hounded by solicitors letters!
The newbie threads are actually really helpful though and really helped me get a better understanding of what was going on when I first received a letter so check them out and good luck to you!

I hope you're dealing with the solicitor's letters, not ignoring those.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    1. Read the thread 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' that is at the top of the forum and was there when instead, you hit 'new thread'. should have simply read the sticky thread and searched the forum for G24.

    2. Search the forum for 'G24'.

    3. Complain to Wickes on their Facebook page, or by email to Head Office.

    4. Relax. :)
