My parents both applied and got declined. It might have been due to the number of hard searches on their credit reports as they have both opened a number of current accounts within the last 12 months. They are both retired and have no debt so this could also be a disadvantage. They have lived at the same address since 1988 and are on the electoral role. Are there any pensioners without debt that have been successful at applying?

Both my sister (declined sole) and I have accounts but we applied for joints with our husbands. Is the joint account easier to be accepted for so would you advice to try for a joint in 6 months time?
