They were giving examples of typical returns that people had over last 12 months ... without stating 'I' would get that.
I have not been 'taken in'. I am in process of finding out more about Fisher without committing anything.
Glad of the comments here.
Most of my pension funds are up around 30+% this past year. Doesn't mean I am an investing genius, that's from perhaps 15% Pound devaluation, and 15% growth in the underlying funds which are generally mostly overseas.
Some also of my direct company shares are up from 50 to near 100%, again a mixture of Brexit, luck and awesome stock picking
I am not stupid enough to beleive I'll get that this coming year and I certainly wouldnt trumpet these returns an example of the normal returns I can get, except perhaps to impress the gullible.0 -
I'll take a read.0

I requested the Fisher retirement planning blurb a couple of years ago when I was starting to look into pension planning (and knew very little). Got a follow up call from a very persistent sales type who was hard to get rid of. I wasn't ready to pay anyone for advice at that stage but they were very hard to get rid of. Their approach did not endear me to them. Reading their employee reviews on Glassdoor gives you a good insight into the type of company they are - sales, sales, sales.
If you want advice, best to find an IFA in my view.0 -

Inside the mind of a scammer (https://www.fca.org.uk/news/press-releases/inside-mind-scammer-tactics-investment-fraudsters):
The common tactics used by fraudsters include:
Offering lucrative returns above the market rate and downplaying the risks of the investment
Using flattery to make potential victims feel good, such as praising them for being a knowledgeable investor
Saying that the deal is only available to the target and asking them to keep it a secret
Saying that other clients have invested or want in on the deal (known as ‘social proof’)
Putting them under pressure to invest in a time-limited offer0
