Pre-Existing Conditions Pet Insurance

Please can anyone suggest a company that covers pre-existing conditions for dogs. All the comparison sights mislead you. I want my dog to be properly insured. Please any recommendations

Only of the dog is less than 2 years old.

Some companies will cover pre existing conditions after two years with no recurrence and no treatment. Petplan are one that do. You need to speak to the underwriter and get it in writing.

My petplan policy doesnt cover my dogs pre existing issue , he had a cruciate ligament repair a few yrs ago petplan have excluded his other back leg for the ligament and also arthritis in either back leg.

  • What is the condition? I assess pet insurance claims. If it's something that has been symptom-free for a couple of years I might pay it. It really depends on the condition.

PetPlan are worth asking. They will add an exclusion but sometimes they remove exclusions depending on the details, if you send them a full medical history.
