Hi, our boiler is not working properly. We've had a plumber out to it and he told us the issue. This guy is usually very reliable but it's been 2 months and we're still waiting for him to fix it. Today, we'd had enough of waiting and called another plumbing company. They advised us that the charge to come and fix it would be £109 and if they needed to come again the there would be an additional cost of £56. They also asked us the make and model of the boiler. The guy came out and my husband told him what the problem was. He checked and agreed that a part needed replacing. He said he'd worked with these boilers a lot and would be back tomorrow to fix it. He was in the house for 10 minutes. We then got a call from their offices saying that they couldn't fix our boiler because they don't deal with the make. However they are demanding we pay them £138.99. I feel that this is unfair and I wanted to know if anyone knows my rights here. I don't think I should have to pay when they can't fix it. Thanks in advance.

I'd wait and see what they do BUT i certainly wouldn't pay, as you say they didn't do the job.0
