No one will accept my Loan application
Dear Experts,
I have recently resigned from a well paying job to take an even better paying one.
As it happened in a time where I was also divorcing, I need to settle some aspects of this and combined with the fact that this new paying job is in another country (Switzerland), I find myself in a limbo where no UK lender will accept my application.
I am requesting for a loan that equals one month's wages (less than 20,000) in my new job but I don't get paid until the end of next month so I am short of proof that I earn what I earn - my contract apparently was not enough. On top of that, I have also a problem with my wages being paid in Euros on a French bank account.
I have a perfect 999 out of 999 score on Experian. I have a mortgage that has never been delayed a payment. I have no other debt.
Are you aware of any lender that would accept these circumstances? I have been turned down by First Direct, my bank of 6 years, as well as Zopa (even though I met their criteria shown on their website).
Thanks for the advice and have a good week,

You're very unlikely to get a loan with the change in jobs, plus the overseas issue.
Your 999 is also worthless, with Experian not being willing to lend.
Do you have no savings or investments at all you can access? Or credit cards?0 -
Just checking; you are on a salary approaching a quarter of a million a year and dont have enough put by to see you through a month!!!!!!!!. Is that right?

You don't know how much the OP was earning in their previous job, they've only just started this new one which is in a different country, then throw a divorce into the mix and it's not inconceivable that the OP is having some cash flow issues.0 -
OP, if your new job is in Switzerland and your salary will be going into a French bank account, are you actually classed as resident in the UK?
Do you have a UK based bank or building society account that can accept Direct Debits as that is a criteria for many lenders.0 -
One month of wages is not going to be proof enough for a loan, so even that will not save you. You are best to forget about it and figure another way to get by.0

Yes. I still pay my mortgage through my bank account via direct debit and I will send part of my salary to this account to cover the mortgage every month as well as child support, etc.0 -

I did mention I am also going through a divorce. And that is why I need the extra cash to settle the case and move on.
I am still a UK resident as my house is still in the UK and I will continue to go back every month. While I work in Switzerland now, I have done so in the UK for the last 5 years.0 -
Congrats on getting £20,000 a month wages, are you are 35 year old premier league footballer who has just signed their last professional contract perhaps?!!
Joking aside, good luck.0 -

I didn't want to be too specific, hence the illustrative figure of "less than 20,000"
If anyone really has a suggestion that might steer me away from more risky borrowing options, I would definitely appreciate.0 -
In the likelhood that you won't get a loan, think about what you want the money for and how to manage around it.
Eg if it's related to the new job -accommodation costs etc - can you ask your new employer for relocation assistance? If it;s the divorce, can these costs be delayed by a month?0
