Car park ticket chased by DRP - Help needed
My partner Darren was temping at Royal Holloway on 8.2.17 and parked his car in a space without any restrictions about 7.40am. When he went to leave at about 16:00, he found a car park charge ticket on the windscreen and a board placed behind his car saying 'space reserved and no parking'.
He took the ticket to the Manager of the catering unit and the Manager told him not to worry as he would email the company to get this sorted.
About 2 weeks ago, Darren received a letter in the post from DRP (Debt Recovery Plus) to say as he had not paid the charge, the fee is now £180.00. Darren called them to explain what had happened but they said he had to pay to which Darren said he couldn't afford it and they said they would send another letter out with an option to spread the cost which we have still not received. The guy from DRP also said that 2 letters had already been sent to us which we never received.
I have no idea what company originally issued this ticket as Darren gave it to the Manager so we don't know who to appeal to. I spoke to Royal Holloway today but the security department were not much help and DRP apparently do not have an appeal option so not too sure where to go from here.
Darren spoke to the Manager when he received this letter and he said he definitely emailed the company but never got a response and he is now off for the Easter Holidays so cannot get hold of him. We need to appeal but not sure to who and also as this was about 8 weeks ago are we now liable for the cost
Sorry for the long thread but any help would be appreciated
Dawn

Unfortunately, I suspect that, unless you break that into paragraphs, few will read it.riYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Post Four of the Newbies Sticky covers DRP completely. You need to read that and stop doing stupid stuff like contacting them!0

If you are at debt recovery stage you have missed the appeal stage.
Debt recovery companies are Muppets that only scam money out of targets you should not engage with them.
They will know nothing about the actual circumstance and you cannot appeal to them.
Is this The Royal Holloway at Egham, if so this wondrous file is their convoluted parking policy:
