It's unfair, and I feel for you.

The only chance is that the buyers they chose either change their mind or come across difficulties that require them to pull out (a higher chance than you might think).

    Fingers crossed for you.

What about the other bidder, there were 3 of them, unfair to them also.
  • Wouldn't be surprised if the EA comes grovelling when the 'buyer' pulls out or there is a problem. It's happened before on here.

We wont go back with any further offers or extra grovelling. We have seen something else now that isn't a 'forever' home but is certainly practical enough whilst we have 3 kids still with us (two being teenagers), plus its about 40k under what the other house was. I refuse to get my hopes up! this house buying lark is stressful!!!

Good Luck with this one :)
  • Beware of EA games! A lot of the time they will say all this just for you to bid higher, I just bought my place and I offered 330k, rejected then 335k rejected then they did a few more viewings and I told the EA that was my best offer and would only be on the table until the weekend. Surprise surprise I get a call on Friday accepting my 335k offer.

it all depends how much the seller wants to sell and just because someone needs in lower mortgage, you are chain free.

I'm not sure this example counts as "EA games".

Unsurprisingly the seller is keen to sell for the highest price possible, and when it became clear that neither you, nor any of the other viewers were prepared to offer more than £335k then they chose to accept your offer.

The situation described in the OP seems to be rather different.

It also depends on what other offers are available to the seller.
and just because someone needs in lower mortgage, you are chain free.
Not sure that is the case.
