UK Contract - Unpaid Lodger - Family Member Moving In

That's really unlikely the police will not be interested in small amounts of cannabis and certainly wont be looking to search their home. And moreover wont be looking to pin it on a good samaritan
In an ideal world I would agree with you but it can and does happen - (and yes it has happened to me - I was mortified)!
I didn't say the police would only search the house because of the cannabis , it could be as a result of any incident that the 'guest' or (as in my case) 'lodger' is involved in outside the home. I was lucky, the lodger admitted straight away that the cannabis stashed in my home was his, but the house search and questioning was dreadful. Never again.0 -

Similarly I've been on the wrong end of it and the police searched only personal rooms and communal areas, in a shared house. IE housemate and his room were not searched.
I suspect you may not have been aware of your rights to some degree and the police took advantage of this.0
