You can re-join the scheme on the same 1995 terms as long as you have had a break of less than 5 years from it. You'll need to re-join fast if you want it based on your final year and retire next October. They use your original date of joining (or did for me anyway) as your anniversary date - best check with your Trust Pension Officer.lzsisku said:Hi,
I am a consultant, have been in the 1995 NHS Pension Scheme with full protection. Will be 60 and will retire in October 2021. I took a break from the Pension Scheme since January 2018. I would like my pension to be calculated based on my salary at retirement, and not based on my salary when I stopped contributing. Anyone knows if I have to rejoin the Scheme, and how long before retirement?CRV1963- Light bulb moment Sept 15- Planning the great escape- aka retirement!0
