N&P Closure & Switch of Current Account

I popped into my N&P branch just to check my switch was going ok etc.
I noticed they had leaflets explaining the switch process (or lack thereof because they're not part of the switching scheme - which also brings me to a point of thanking N&P for the promised help and advice (NOT) of helping with the transfer!)
Having a quick read, I noticed they said as part of the transfer you are to select FULL TRANSFER. Now why would they want you to do that?
Although I don't want to close my account, I am working abroad again this summer, so obviously I would not want to close my account, and still use it for free overseas money, as I normally would, while I still can.
So why doesn't the form explain the 2 options, of Full or Partial transfer?
My point is, what is in it for them for wanting you to close your account yourself, as opposed to running it to the end and making them close it? Is there some hidden agenda/reason why N&P want you to close your account yourself?

Because they would prefer it if you closed your account so they didn't have to communicate with you in the weeks between now and then.0
