Need help with 4 parking tickets!!

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I have had 4 parking fines, 2 of which were on my car and the other 2 I only found out about on a chance calling to Barnet council.
They were for parking in a restricted area on 2 accounts and not parking correctly in a bay on 2 accounts. It's on a single residential road. Basically there was a car parked in front of me, (Barnet Council have removed an entire road’s parking so there are less spaces now) and I must have been about 5cm outside of the bay because I needed to leave ample space for the car in front.
I have a parking permit for the restricted area, but after appealing, it turns out that the restricted area is because there is a single yellow line that starts where the bay ends. This is all quite frankly ridiculous and I feel I should haven’t to pay this.
What do you think? I’d really appreciate your help!! As I'm a new poster I'm not allowed to post links of photos

You would be better off posting this on pepipoo.com as they are the council/police motoring experts, whereas we specialise in private parking matters here on MSE.
