Private Parking Idea

Seeing as you're parking on private land, for which, if I'm not mistaken, you don't even need a licence for, would it not be well within the laws of the land to remove and/or obstruct your number plate so these firms can no longer issue a ticket.
I get parking tickets from a gym car park, which is unmanned but they have a crow's nest CCTV system. Surely if I remove or cover up my number plate (which takes all of two mins) before I enter/after I exit the premises, there's nothing they can do?
Just a thought.

Correct. There are even flip down number plates you can buy that will do what you suggest at the flick of a switch. Mr Beavis does one for about £50 that changes the VRN to UP YOURS ANPR, or something similar.
The important things are not to drive on a public road in that configuration, and not to be discourteous to other motorists by holding them up during your number plate change.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

they did not get your info from a " crow's nest CCTV system. " , that camera would have been an ANPR type camera , that simply took a photo of the cars VRN , as it left ther public road and returned to the public road , so to do as you state , you would have to cover your VRN on a public road ,
I have many friends who park motorcycles on wide pavement / shop fronts , they simply afix a bike cover to stop a warden viewing itSave a Rachael

Then there are the scammers who have cameras operating on a public road, or taking images whilst the vehicle is still on a public road.
Of course, you could always get round this by using a foreign registered car as long as you take it back whence it came at the prescribed time. I think it's something like a limit of twelve months at the most.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Basically, it's a camera on a high pole that looks at your car (takes a video or a still picture (I'm not sure which one) of your car the moment it enters the car park - which is situated on a public road. I have to drive across the public pavement (drop kerb) to access it0 -
The difficulty is that it may have recorded your plate before you've reached a point where you can safely/legally change it.
You're better dealing with the issue properly and getting the parking company to stop harassing you. Are you allowed to park there in any capacity?0 -
