getting 'cannot open the camera', or camera in use by another app' (it isn t!)
have cleared data, done a factory reset, still get same.. all other stuff works fine.

have you tried a camera app like 'OPEN Camera' from the playstore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera
If no joy?? it may be a hardware problem
