Confusing experience with Noddle/Callcredit

Hi all,

Couldn't seem to find anyone with a similar experience of this so thought I'd post here. I've been banking with Halifax for nearly 10 years now. I have my current account with them and a Halifax Clarity card, which I've only used a few times a year since I first had it 6 years ago - the only reason I got it was because my dad lives abroad and there's no fee for using it out of the UK, so it seemed practical.

Anyway, I had a letter from Halifax recently saying they would be raising the interest rate on that card and the increase was a pretty whopping sum compared to what I'd had for years. They said this was based on information they'd obtained about me using their credit reference agency. No big deal really as I barely use it and have always paid it off but I was a bit confused, so I rang them to ask them about it. They confirmed this information would have been from Callcredit but the chap I spoke to couldn't tell me anymore about it. He said the best thing to do would be to open a Noddle or Callcredit account and take a look.

I already have an Experian & Equifax account, so reluctant to sign up to another membership for Callcredit, I opened a Noddle account. I entered in all of the details they needed but they were apparently completely unable to identify me. Bit odd as I'm not new to UK, have other credit cards, had a small Ikano loan (which I paid off in full), a current account etc and have done for some years now. So I also tried online with Callcredit - same issue. I'm literally nowhere to be found.

I'm going to try calling Callcredit again, have tried already and was on hold so gave up and will go back to that later... but does anyone have any idea why this might be happening or have had any experience of this? I'm really puzzled by it

Thanks all!

Lack of data on you - it may be that none of your lenders report to Call Credit.

Did you try entering more than one card number on Noddle, to see if that worked?

Thanks for replying. Yeah I did, didn't seem to make a difference unfortunately. Weirdest thing for me that is that one of my two credit cards and my current account is with Halifax, who do report to Callcredit... Could it be because I'm not using that credit card often enough? As I said, I only use it a few times a year but I didn't think that would be an issue.
