Is there a minimum direct debit spend for rewards accounts?

This may seem a strange but I have noticed many banks are offering rewards to current account holders who have at least two direct debits set up on their accounts an I was wondering if they have a minimum spend for the direct debits or if its just a case of that once set up even if the direct debit is only for £1 each month they will still class that as a direct debit. I can't see anything in the terms and conditions.

Also I was wondering if merely having a credit card set up to pay by direct debit at the end of the month was classed as a direct debit to banks that offer this reward at the banks that offer it?

I'm not aware of any restriction. I have a £1 DD that works on a Halifax account.

I use multiple credit cards each month to trigger additional DDs. Halifax credit card on Halifax current account works.

I've never seen any minimum DD spend specified.

A DD to pay a credit card would be fine, but for those reward accounts which specify a DD payment must be made every month, you would have to make sure you spend on your credit card.

You could also use a PayPal account as a backup DD;)
