parking fine

Hello there, My daughter got a ticket off vcs in pearson way thornaby. She e mailed them to say having got back to her car the permit she has, had fallen off the windscreen but she works for the company that pays for the parking space and she has worked there for 5 years. She got a letter asking for proof of her permit which she sent a photo of too them and asked them to cancel the charge. She got another letter saying charge still stands which she responded to and said how can this be possible with proof of a valid permit. She has now received a letter off Bw Solicitors asking for £160.00. Surely she doesnt have to pay this to park at her own workplace?
Any Feedback off you people would be greatly appreciated.

A judge will decide - BW Legal do try small claims but don't be scared into paying! We have helped newbies win every case we've assisted with the defence v BW Legal (every case for a year) and there are example defences and lots of info about beating a small claim to see off a PPC, in post #2 of the top sticky thread for newbies.

Is this Excel or VCS? As I say, likely to result in court papers so read what's in the sticky thread post #2 first and search this forum board for 'BW Legal letter' or similar keywords.

Hello There. This is VCS. Do you really think this will go to court even though my daughter has parked there for 5 years without any problem. 4 years in exactly the same car only this day the permit had fell down. Wouldnt a court just laugh at it getting this far.
Does my daughter have to reply to this first letter off BW Legal?
    Thanks again for your help.

It won't be laughed at in court; it will need seriously defending if it does get that far.

Yes she needs to respond to BW Legal.

What happened when she complained to her employer about this?

My point is she has a valid permit. She has shown them this permit. It fell on the floor on the day.
What is there to defend. If she was breaking the law fair enough we would have paid.
My daughter mentioned it to her employer in November when it happened and they just said sort it. She hasnt mentioned it since but maybe she should. She was in the same place which is designated for their firm and has parked there everyday practically for 5 years.
Thank You again for your reply. We will e mail this BW Legal.

For goodness sake - please read a selection of recent threads. These people don't do reasonableness. Their only income derives from motorists who break their t&c. They don't give up unless you have a really good appeal based on their failures but almost never with mitigation.

I would not pay as if it gets to court they can only claim the charge plus costs.
