Obligations

I was the victim of fraud recently (Vodafone bill taken out in my mind). Vodafone sent me a letter saying that they agreed I'd been a victim of fraud. But do they have an obligation to clear my file for all credit rating agencies should a black mark appear? If so, and they don't how do I get this done?

If they agree it's not your account, then they should remove any reference to it on your files.

    But don't hold your breath.

Vodaphone tops the list for useless customer service.

Yes, I've read some horror stories so was trying to figure out how I pushed for a removal!

Write to them, tell them that as they have agreed its fraud, they must clear your credit file of any reference to the account, within 30 days.

See what happens, it may take longer than 30 days, but best to set a limit.

If they develop amnesia, you can always contact the ICO to get it removed.
