ideal home vs grand design

Hi all,
I'm planning a day out to either the ideal home show or grand designs live. Any thoughts on what is best? I've just bought a new flat and am generally looking for ideas. I will need a new kitchen, ideas with what to do with a large bedroom (18x18), and the possibility of adding bifold doors etc.
Any experiences appreciated.
Many thanks

mmm tough one. Ideal home is more practical and achievable but grand designs who can beat the "bespoke " well everything.
IMO don't think that you can make a bad decision. It depends if you want more finishing touch inspiration or more general building ideas. Based on your post I would say ideal home as they will have more ideas of how to dress and improve what you already have instead on knocking down and starting again.
Either way you will have a fab day out.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
There is no right answer to your question. It is down to choice but try both and see what you think. Also tap into Homebuilding and Renovating magazine. The annual show at the NEC has just gone by, but there are smaller regional ones arranged through the year. BuildIt magazine does something similar. Also, next month the Self Build Show will be at NSBRC at Swindon. Basically, there is plenty out there to stimulate the mind apart from the two you have mentioned.0
