UKCPS Final letter before court action!
However, no letters to chase these up until February/march. These were haphazard so random days I.e 28th December then one for the 29th December and so on.
I thought the letters were a joke (poorly written and most of them the print was faded obviously their printer was running out of ink - not on letterhead paper but the letterhead was printed on) so I threw them away. And ignored them.
I checked the website too to see if they were legit but the website screams unprofessional to me (again poor wording, spelling mistakes and keying errors) so I was sure this may have been a scam.
Now I have a final letter before they take me to court??? I've got 14 days to pay. Again the letter doesn't look legit. They've listed an website on the letter for the consequences of not paying however after typing this in it's not a real website. The number stated to call on the letter is different to the numbers listed on the ukcps website.
Any advice is good advice. I don't really know what to do!

Yep - we would agree - very amateurish, ex-clampers who were shown trading out of a caravan/mobile building behind a pub in Leeds when they were portrayed as the villains on 'Can't Pay, We'll Take it Away' for some employee dispute over money!I checked the website too to see if they were legit but the website screams unprofessional to me (again poor wording, spelling mistakes and keying errors) so I was sure this may have been a scam.
Final Notice before Court is a stage where you should treat it as a Letter before County Court Claim (LBCCC) and respond robustly. UKCPS don't do court much but they try a few, and we defend well!
Search this forum for 'UKCPS court' and 'UKCPS LBCCC' and 'UKCPS defence' to inform yourself and find examples of how to respond robustly to a LBCCC< and no that doesn't mean offering money.
As a good example on the forum today, LoadsofChildren123, who is legally qualified (unlike me) has stated this as a way of responding to a LBCCC:

We almost always see court wins in the cases we help with that do go to a hearing, 99% won or discontinued when the PPCs/solicitors see the defence & evidence confidently set out & argued by informed newbies who do their homework. So, start that reading now!
