Barclays online banking problem

Anyone else having a problem making payments from their Barclays online current account?
After years of trouble free banking, I first experienced this problem when trying to make a payment out of my account on Friday. I got the error message '2' saying there was a tech problem.
When I experienced the same problem on Saturday, I rang the helpline, to be told other customers were experiencing the same thing, and to try changing my browser! I said I'm not changing anything, it's a problem with your service, sort it out and pronto.
It's now Monday morning and still not fixed.
This is a fundamental facility which I need, and I am now thinking about closing my Barclays account after 25 years and changing banks.

I made a transfer on Sat without problems. Firefox. I also use IE, Chrome and Yandex occasionally for various purposes.0 -
Herefordjack - one of the best bits of advice on these forums is not to put all your eggs in one basket. Have you got a second account you could use.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I agree with Grumbler, closing you account for this reason is an overreaction, and you could find yourself experiencing similar short term glitches at any bank. By all means open an account at another bank to use as a back up, something which we recommend on here anyway, but if you are otherwise happy with what Barclays provide it seems ridiculous to stop using them because of a few days experiencing an issue which can be bypassed anyway by the sound of it.0

What's your plan for your new bank having a similar service glitch (they all do)?
Why are you incapable of a temporary browser switch?
Would their app work better for you anyway?0 -

If there is a compatibility problem with your browser it could be totally outside the bank's control.0 -
Made payments from our Barclays account Friday Saturday and Monday.
All 3 got to their destination accounts within an hour.
I'm using Firefox 52.0.2Never trust a financial institution.

I have problems with online banking yesterday and today, error code 6.

You've had a bank account with them for 25 years and one weekend of issues makes you want to leave? It's common sense to realise that technology isn't perfect, every bank from time to time will have technical glitches.
Sometimes these things are just technical glitches or compatability issues. If you're unwilling to help troubleshoot when in fact it's entirely possible changing browser could fix your issue for the time being(before going back to your preferred browser when it's fixed), you're cutting off your nose to spite your face.
I mean, I called them the other day because I was setting up a transfer and it wouldn't work. Turns out they were having a temporary issue where the reference on a transfer couldn't have any special characters in it. I simply removed the special characters.0 -
I am having the same problem, it is not just you. I have tried using Chrome and IE. It all started yesterday afternoon, I made a few transfers and payments successfully, then realised I had one more to do...and couldn't do it, and still can't this morning. FRUSTRATING.0
