Gladstones intended court action

I have an unpaid parking charge originating back to March 2016 from G24. This was after I exceeded the 2 hour limit at a supermarket car park in Scotland. I received numerous letters from DRP, none of which I have not responded to. I have now received a letter from Gladstone suggesting possible court action if the charge is unpaid. Can you offer any advice on the likelihood of this proceeding to court, and if so could I settle out of court for the same value of parking charge currently being quoted? Basically what is the risk and likelihood of me not settling the current charge?

Are you sure the name is G4S as they cannot get Keeper details except on some dodgy pretext.

    Or do you mean G24?

If you're in Scotland you're pretty much bombproof, as long as the driver isn't identified. If it is G24, they haven't got a clue about how to start a court case. They've never attempted one single case in England (wonder why, with over 200,000 tickets issued in the past couple of years, they've gone nowhere near a courtroom?), let alone start by pursuing one in Scotland.

'Settling out of court' should be the last thing on your mind (unless you've got 'MUG' tattooed on your forehead :)).
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Zero chance. Most people here get the retailers to cancel these pesky G24 pieces of trash, by making a major complaint.
