On the BBC news. What a shambles:

I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

I've worked on Taylor wympey sites plus a lot of the other big house builders and some of things I've seen are shocking such as main sewer lines going in without pea gravel to protect the pipes but the worst I've seen was on another builder where the whole internal drain line sunk on upto 10 houses, these houses were nearly finished and the upstairs had to be supported whilst they broke the floor out to fix them and to make it worse after fixing them they sunk again. I will never buy another new build again, they are nothing but small overpriced shoeboxes.0

I may dislike my 1920's mid-terrace home (living wise) but when see problems like this I'm thankful.0

I had a Victorian Terrace with a supporting wall built onto a plank and another neighbour with walls that weren't tied at the corners. I trust the new builds that are going up now much more than the old, old houses; the only reason I bought a house that is 27 years old is because all the new builds I saw were on leases with estate fees!
Poor builds have been around for decades and there is an element of luck with house buying I guess.0
