UKPC (again)

My wife received a parking ticket in 2011 from UKPC in Farnborough, Hampshire. They claimed we left the site without visiting the shops which was not true. I appealed at the time telling them to check CCTV or prove that I left the site; neither of which they could do. Instead they just gave me their standard responses. The ticket was passed on to a debt collecting company who wrote to us but I took the advice on most forums at the time and ignored the letters. Eventually they stopped contacting me.

My question is, even though I haven’t heard anything back in more than 5 years, can the debt company or UKPC all of a sudden contact me out of the blue claiming I owe thousands in interest even though I have had no contact for years?

They can both contact you and claim anything they like. They are scammers after all.

Debt collectors have no powers and can do nothing except send poor quality bog paper.

UKPC could try court but they only have six years from the date of the alleged event, after which it becomes statute barred. They would be stupid to try as this is pre POFA 2012 so as long as they don't know who was driving, they will lose against a forum assisted defence.
