letter from Gladstones

Hi,
Got back from work this evening to find a letter from Gladstones solicitors asking me to pay a "outstanding parking charge" on behalf of DRP, withing 14 days.
The letter itself is not dated (find this odd), they are asking me to pay £149. The charge relates to a PCN issued by UK car park management during July last year. At the time I appealed but it was lost, the fact is I was displaying a valid permit on the driver side window. It was a hot summers day and I slightly left the windows open so I would not return to a hot car with children, so I placed the permit on the drivers window so it was not blown of the dash.
Looks like a standard letter, no mention of the date and the only details they provide is car reg, claiment and amount.
Dont mind contentesting the claim in court as have pictures of the car displaying a valid permit and windows slightly open but more than anything its a time thing.
Just weighing up my options, 1) could pay and be over and done with it or 2) dispute the charge in the small claims court.
I have heard the Gladstones are owned by the same people who run IPC, hence why my reasonable appeal was rejected in the first place?
No doubt Gladstones will take me to court for the amount requested as they are a coyboy outfit. Can someone please give me some advice on how I should proceed with this.
Many thanks in advance

Advice re this letter has been given already on at least 2 threads here today.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
