Parking charge notice APCOA

Hi,

In January just past we have received 4 PCNs from a car park we are regular users of. The parking company is APCOA.

We have never not payed or overstayed our time, always making sure to pay for 12 hours just in case.

The PCNs were issued for a non payment. We appealed the PCNs explaining everything however we no longer had the parking receipts as proof. We explained that one day we could have entered our reg plate number in wrong and we were let off one.

The advice we found online told us to ignore the letters so the second set of letters we received we didn't reply.

After looking online again we saw it said not to pay but not to ignore. By this time we had missed the date to appeal a second time.

We are now receiving letters from debt collection agencies and the parking company and don't know what to do.

As we have no proof of payment we are unsure what our options are. The charges have risen to £145 each plus £30 extra if it goes any further than this. We don't want to pay for something that we haven't done and don't know where to go next.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

A combo of APCOA (who never sue) and debt collector letters (they have no power to sue) means you can ignore this but keep all letters just in case one day APCOA break the habit of a lifetime and sue their back-catalogue of 'parking charges'.

Highly unlikely with APCOA, and defendable - you paid & displayed so did comply with the terms. Sit on it all for up to six years.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Thank you so much for your advice, I will file the letters as they come.

I feel so much better and I can get some sleep now. Thank you X
