Hiya, wonder if anyone can help!

My Brother and GF live at my mums house. His GF got a call on Monday from a Debt Collectors - not sure which one, my mum cannot remember as she answered the phone and passed it straight over. From what I can gather the GF cannot pay.
What I need to know is if bayliffs turn up at my mums what can they take??

obviously its not my mums debt but all of the stuff in the house belongs to her bar the one room that my brother and the gf live in - just worried that they will turn up and my mum will be out of pocket iykwim.
Any advise would be greatfully received and mu mum is panicing

  • Hi there, we need more information - is it a council tax bill?
As these are the only bailiffs with what is known as a "walking possessions", in other words they are the only ones allowed to come into your home and take things, and even then it is only with a court appointment to do so.

Other bailiffs will try it on, do not let them into your home, and keep the windows shut!!

They may just be trying it on but it sounds like it needs to get sorted!!

    Hope this helps

Hiya thatnks for the quick response.
No its not council tax, my mum pays that!

I think that its for a credit card that shes not been paying. Agree that it needs to be sorted and my mum will go mental if they do turn up. Thing is both of them are !!!!!! with money...I have posted earlier on in the year about my brother and thats still not sorted. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=346393
