PPI Refund Miscaluclated Barclaycard

Hello
Cut a long story short, back in 2012 I requested a PPI refund for my mother on her two Barclaycard accounts. She was a part time work and was covered by her employer for sick pay/redundancy etc.
In 2012 she was awarded a refund on both her accounts. One for around £4000 and the other £1500.
Yesterday, out of the blue she received a letter in regards to the larger payment. They sated they have reviewed their figures and found the calculation to be incorrect and sent a cheque for a further £6500!
Obviously she is thrilled with this as she doesn't have much disposable income. I meanwhile am wondering how they got the calculation so wrong in the first place, I don't want her to have to pay it back if she spends it!
On the other hand, if they got the calculation wrong on one of her accounts, its likely the other is also wrong so should I request they review this account.
Any thoughts or similar experiences, namely with Barclaycard
Many Thanks

You or she could ask for a breakdown of how its come to be more, re the smaller amount you or she could ask them to review it, the worse they will say is no.0

It could be something as simple as a staff member being unaware of an older system so they didn't realise she paid it for x amount of time, or it was an estimate based on incomplete records, all manner of reasons. If they have reviewed one complaint, if the other is connected to a known issue it will have been reviewed already. If it was not connected and not affected it won't need to be
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
