My bank was my first call, the bank told me to contact the credit card company directly.

Banks are very good at passing the buck however the onus for correcting this immediately via the direct debit guarantee is clearly in their court. Call back and ask to escalate the call if necessary.

Hi No, I haven't. But I have paid allowed my daughter to have credit in my name as she is saving for a deposit for a house. This was one of the reasons that it slipped as I may have assumed it was her credit.

I felt confident that the monies will be returned. Just curious as to how this would happen.

Because that does indeed sound as if it could be what this is. The only DD that can be taken relating to a credit card is to pay off that card, and while that could be what is happening there are many more circumstances in which a CPA could have been set up.

The OP can clarify by telling us whether the payment from thir bank account is a Direct Debit or just a debit.
Under no circumstances a payment to a CC company can be a CPA.
