Good morning. It has been a beautiful one with blue skies and a breeze so I've put a small wash on. Now the skies are clouding over
. Never mind I hope it will dry a little before I have to bring it in. Did get through quite a few jobs on my list yesterday but have found that I need to add some more, it's a never ending list:rotfl:
Dad's coming over for lunch which is roast pork, roast potatoes and veg. Later at teatime we will have crumpets and plum crumble tart with ice cream or custard.
Enjoy your day everyone.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Afternoon - the sun has been shining all day, sometimes from under white clouds but mostly with blue skies and a blowy breeze.
I did two loads of washing and got it all on the line, I really enjoy watching it all dance around. The double sheet is acting like a sail.
Then I drove about 30 miles south down the peninsula to get some milk from the new dairy on the island of Gigha, it's sold on the mainland, which is just beautiful stuff in lovely glass bottles with screw tops. Well worth the trip though the sunshine flooding the car on the drive down the coast was a joy too.
After that I knuckled down to cleaning! My new cleaner starts tomorrow and I couldn't have the place in such a state :rotfl: so I did 85% of what needs doing. Just roughly that is. I struggle to do the bits low down, the hearth and skirtings etc as I can't bend one knee and my back is sore with half bending. If I take off my glasses or remove my contact lenses the place looks more than half decent! :rotfl:
My vacuum cleaner needed a spring clean too. But all is done now, just the washing to bring in and put away. There's stuff for the tip (when is there not?) as most of what I buy is from Amazon so the cardboard piles up.
I've got the front door open with sunshine and air getting into all the rooms. The geese are cackling away and someone is upsetting the cows over the garden wall. Country living is not quiet at all.
Now I deserve a cup of tea and my feet raised. I hope everyone has had a great Sunday so far. Hugs if you are struggling.0 -
Hester ooohhh, it's really getting exciting now! I shall look forward to hearing how it all goes.
I have another meet'n'greet set up for 13th April, for another Staffie. :T When I had to give my information as a dog-carer as to what dogs I'd accept, and what our household was like (eg all-adult, no resident pets, quiet household, etc) one of the questions was "Will you accept Staffies?" and this is the 2nd prospective client with a Staffie who said that I came up as the top of their list of matched carers; so I wonder if there are quite a few who won't take them? If so they are missing out big time, because Staffies are generally lovely natured, and great fun.
Anyways, we've got the bungalow all nice and clean and tidy, ready for Bluebell's visit; less than 24 hours to go now. :TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Have fun with Bluebell LW, I know a lot of people don't like Staffies, they get bad press, I think they are lovely dogs, there is one 3 boats along from us and last week DGD got lots of licks from him. I asked the owner first before we approached the dog, just out of courtesy but Benny was already straining towards us with his tail wagging. There seems to be a great affinity between boaters and dogs, there are loads on the marina.Chin up, Titus out.0

I've never met a nasty staffie, though I have known some that have not been great with other dogs.
I did know one with evil intentions. She would lie on my feet until they went totally numb, and she was heavy, it didn't take long, and I somehow knew that she hoped that a foot would fall off and then she'd be allowed to chew it. Other than this, she was a total sweetheart.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0
