stop a service prior to shutdown - w2k3?

Options
I want to automatically stop a service before shutting a machine down.
I can write a very simple batch file to do it:-
"net stop servicename"

Thing is, where do I stick the batch file to ensure it gets executed?
If anyone knows, or knows a decent site that explains in detail, then I would appreciate it! This is using Windows 2003 Server (not XP/98 etc).
Thanks,
Crankup

It's possible to add the shutdown command at the end of the file, then run the batch file to shutdown your pc?

Ok you can use a shutdown script in windows 2003.
OPen up your groupolicy editor START|RUN|gpedit.msc

    open computerconfiguration-windows settings-scripts(Startup/shutdown)
Double click the shutdown in the right hand pane and browse to your script

Dig inside; inside is the fountain of good, and it will forever flow, if you will forever dig.
