Aviva house insurance renewal

I have just rung them to ask if they could give me a better price as comparison site showed savings of over £40. He said they could not, so I said I would get back to them.
I got a quote from Tesco, saving me £20 plus Quidco cash back of £40.
I rang Aviva back to cancel and got the same chap, said I wanted to cancel and he then offered to see if they could do it cheaper!
So if with Aviva it looks as if it is best to ring to cancel rather than ask for a better price.

This is no different than any other bazaar where the price is negotiable - the seller won't offer their lowest price for the carpet until you are walking out of their shop - as old as the hills....it looks as if it is best to ring to cancel rather than ask for a better price.
