Number to free sim card?

Hi all,

I have recently switched contract, but want to keep my old number for as long as possible (so many things online want mobile authorisation these days, so want to keep it open as long as possible),

I have a contract on another phone for which I want to keep the number. Therefore, to keep my old number, I want to use the PAC code and transfer it to a free sim (i.e don't need to top up to activate etc...). It just needs to receive calls/texts,

Is this possible? And if so, where?

Thanks!!

    yeah its possible.

might be wise to put £5 credit on it.

If you don't want to loose the number I would research PAYG contracts well, to see when they expire. Most require a call every 3 months you see. Best put a reminder in your phone.

What network do you want it on?

When I moved from T-Mobile to Three, I wanted a new number but to also keep the old one for a short while.

The then T-Mobile, converted my full contract to a PAYG one, and added £5 credit. They did not issue a new SIM card, I just kept the existing one. I've still got it and the number still works three years later despite adding no credit.
