Selling Leasehold Assignment Pack Cost (Homeground Online)

Hi,
I'm selling my leasehold property. To speed up the process I asked my solicitor if I should request the assignment pack from my management company Homeground Online. They told me to go ahead.
The problem is, is that their charges aren't really clear in what I will be getting for my money. For example, under the heading "assignment pack" it says: -
"Fill out the following form and proceed to payment. A fee of £240.00 (inc VAT) is payable for providing a Consent for an Assignment Pack Request.
Once we have received your request we will contact you to confirm whether consent is required and act on the landlord's behalf to provide it."
Am I getting consent to ask for a assignment pack or am I getting the assignment pack, and has anyone else dealt with these guys in relation to selling their home?
Thanks.

Don't have the same management company, but I paid a similar fee when selling my lease hold flat.
This fee allowed my solicitor to contact the company and request the management pack. This was sent to them.... 3 weeks later!!!
I haven't had to pay anything else to the management company. (actually I might double check with my solicitor that nothing else payment wise is due to the management company upon completion!)0 -
Hello,
I'm in the same position unfortunately. Did they charge you more after the initial £240 (just for the request!).
Just want to get an idea of how much I am going to be ripped off.
Also, after paying, did you actually get the assignment pack and how long did it take?
Many Thanks.Hi,

You'll need the assignment pack that contains the fire risk assessment, asbestos report, 3 years accounts, block buildings insurance policy, Memorandum & Articles of Association etc (in other words the full pack, sometimes described as a Leasehold Management Pack). If you're not sure whether your Consent to Assignment Pack is the correct one, then let your solicitor write to them requesting a pack and details of the fees, which you'll then pay direct to them and they pass on the fee to the Management Company. It may sound long-winded, but it is the usual way of doing things and if you don't get the correct pack, it will be money down the drain as the buyer's solicitors will require the correct one. If a Deed of Covenant or a Consent is needed, there will be additional fees involved.0

What I really want to know is in relation to 'Huntinio' original post from him or anyone else dealing with HomeGround:
1) Did they charge you more after the initial £240 (just for the request!!).
2) After paying, did you actually get the assignment pack or did they just ignore you?
3) If they did provide it, how long did it take for them to provide it?
Many Thanks.0 -

Hi,
How are you getting on with your sale?
Did you request the pack from Home Ground?
Thank you.0 -
I will have to request it at cost of £240. It says it will be delivered within 5-7 days - we shall wait and see.
Has anyone else got experience of ordering the "assignment pack" from HomeGround? I'm primarily concerned now with how long they will take to come up with pack. I am hoping they stick to their word of 5-7 days0 -
