freeview probs

hi everyone

been having a few probs with my freeview in my bedroom (have sky downstairs) with every channel bar the bbc ones. re scanned as few times and now i can't even get the itv channels and others to appear. so stuck with just the bbc channels.

is anyone else having these probs as no matter how many times i rescan i can't get the other freeview channels

Probably totally wrong, but recently had to contact my Freeview box support people. As part of the assistance, they advised I re-scanned for available channels but reset the box back to default (factory condition) before doing so. This in effect removed all the previously loaded channels ready for a "clean sweep".
Have you tried doing that? I think the advice normally is to remove the current set up prior to re-scanning.
Your user manual should explain the correct procedure anyway. What box is it?
Is there a signal strength/quality indicator you can access in the menu system? Might it be just a poor signal? My F in L has Freeview and couldn't receive some channels no matter how many scans were attempted - that was down to the aerial not being installed properly.
