Hi xXMessedUpXx I have different medical conditions which are classed as disabilities and my GP recommended working earlier in the day as a reasonable adjustment as I wake between 4-5am most days and this was accepted by occ health.

Do you have a union rep who could guide you and go with you to your occ health appointment ? I found mine invaluable and she made some suggestions for other reasonable adjustments such as reducing my targets and increasing the trigger points for sick proceedures which were also implemented

Good luck and hope your health improves.

The 8 hours fit note was from when i was working 11/13 hours shifts so needed a reduction then, now been reduced to 6 hours since getting fit note from doctor today. Contracted to 16 hours a week though in feb it jumped upto 30+ hours. Sorry for any confusion.

We don;t have set days or shifts it varies every week. Would set shifts/set hours be seen as a possible reasonable adjustment?

If you can do your 30 hours in 6 hours over 5 days, the business may not have too much of a problem.

Setting shifts may be a problem if it means they have to 'mess around' other employees to accommodate.

I dont mind doing 5 days and 6 hours a day, that i think i can do without too much impact on my mood. hopefully occ health will be understanding, manager did say 6 hours shouldn;t be an issue just wasn;t sure where i'd stand with occ health.

I think the problem we face here is that we don't know whether what you want is reasonable or not - it comes down to what the employers ability to fit this into their business is. You have already had a very substantial adjustment, and that hasn't worked out. Maybe they can reduce the hours more, maybe they can't. But there will be an end point somewhere.
